Senior Scientist/Team Leader - Translational & Clinical Biology

Based close to Glasgow, my are an emerging cancer immunotherapy company developing cell-based treatments for cancer and severe viral infections. The company has a clear vision to make CAR-T mainstream therapy for eradicating cancer. They are developing safer, cheaper, consistent, and durable CAR-T drugs for haematological and solid tumours.
They are now looking for a Senior Scientist within their clinical biology team. The Translational and Clinical Biology lead will be responsible for developing the translational research and clinical biomarker strategy in line with both research and early clinical development objectives. This strategy will contribute to ongoing and upcoming clinical trials, and support program prioritization and decision-making across early stages of development programs.
This is a laboratory-based role with extensive primary cell culture and flow cytometry skills required for the development of assays for clinically relevant biomarkers.
The post holder will lead the dedicated Translational and Clinical Biology Research team and provide specialist knowledge on relevant diseases targeted by immunotherapy products, with a focus on supporting all activities pertaining to the Phase 1 trial. The post holder will lead, design, implement and deliver on research projects where results are utilized in fundamental product and disease understanding, biomarker identification, pre-clinical, process optimization, future product design and trial monitoring. The post holder will work closely with the Clinical site and with the Clinical team for sharing of patient data, sample and product scheduling, and support of documentation and clinical trial protocol design. The post holder will be an excellent team player, will be aligned with company values and goals, and will be able to work independently. They will be proactive and work flexibly to deliver on objectives.
To be considered you should have the following skills and experience;
+ Degree qualified, with a PhD in Translational Research or relevant industry experience (at least 3 years). These qualifications are essential pre-requisites for this role.
+ Extensive experience in primary cell and cell line culture, including optimisation of protocols for culture of primary cells.
+ Excellent practical multicolour flow cytometry expertise including cell sorting (by flow and magnetic beads)
+ Strong experience in data analysis and statistical software packages such as GraphPad Prism or similar.
+ Experience in preparing written documentation, including SOPs, Development Reports & Change Controls.
+ Excellent written/oral communication and interpersonal skills.
