Data Engineer: Part-Remote

My client, a Professional Services Consultancy in Oxford, are actively seeking a Data Engineer. Whilst there is an office in Oxford, the successful candidate will be able to work on a mostly remote basis – office visits may be required twice a month.

Key Features of the Role;

• Requirements gathering – functional and non-functional
• Create Azure-based data storage solutions and data movements
• CI/CD of the BI Solution such as Data Lake, Data Factory, Data Warehouse, Semantic models using Azure DevOps
• Ongoing development of the infrastructure required for ETL data from a variety of sources using Azure and related technologies
• Develop Data Factory and other data movement processes
• Ensure the Azure environment is monitored, data flows are robust, the reporting layer is consistent and new developments are designed in modular fashion
• Build Big Data, data steaming and AI infrastructure solutions
• Collaborate and support the Data Science and Software Delivery teams in respect of AI Solutions
• Collaborate and support on the implementation of pilots and proof of concepts using Azure technologies
Experience Sought;
• Good knowledge of Azure Data Factory
• Experience of working in Agile environments
• Knowledge of Python (or R)
• Experience deploying solutions to Azure Cloud
• Knowledge of developing modern Data Warehouses and Data Lakes
• Design and development of ETL flows, data stores, dimensional models and cubes
• Good understanding of data management – permissions, recovery, security, monitoring.
